Statement of significance:

This originally four roomed weatherboard cottage of Federation (or earlier age) is architecturally significant. It is also significant as one of a number of buildings whose age, bulk and form, contribute to the Queen Street streetscape. It may be a pair with 156 Queen street.

Physical description: Located to the front of the block this is a small weatherboard Federation cottage (or earlier) with steeply pitched hipped iron room and skillion verandah across the front. Windows have been replaced. Unpainted tall brick chimney. Large rear garden with no historically significant plantings. Weld mesh fence to front of recent origin. Simple gravel driveway to rear.

Further information: Future reinstatement of half rounded guttering would enhance the streetscape appearance of this property.

Historical notes: No readily available early history. Drainage plans dated 15/12/1946 show the owner as Mr F. Bullivant. The plans also show and external laundry with tubs and a front and rear verandah. Jacaranda trees were planted on the verge in this section of Queen Street in 1973 as part of the Jacaranda Festival. The trees are marked with plaques and commemorate the work of Council staff and former Councillors.
