Located on the corner of Fitzroy and Alice Street the form, scale and retention of original features such as window joinery ensure that this quality Federation house contributes to the Grafton Urban Conservation area. It may be a pair with 206 Fitzroy Street.

Description

Physical description: Located on the corner of Fitzroy and Alice Streets this is a single storey weatherboard residence with new skillion roof over the front verandah. Steeply pitched roof now clad with fibrous cement. Gable to the front which is decorated with ashlar work in the same style as 206 Fitzroy street. Joinery around the front window is elaborate and original. Sunhoods over the side windows. Chimney intact. New front fence.

Interior four bedrooms has retained its fireplace.

Further information: This cottage would be enhanced with the replacement of the front bull nosed verandah. Jahn (1982,315 ) considers this building contributes to the townscape.
