This substantial Federation residence, with its steeply pitched roof and chimney with posts, contributes to the aesthetic appearance of the Alice Street landscape. It can be compared with 10 Alice Street and is representative of its type.

Physical description: A substantial Federation residence with steeply pitched hipped and gabled roof, set within a large block of land. Its roof form is similar to 10 Alice Street. Ashlar decoration under the projecting front gable. Brick chimney with associated pots intact. New iron roof. Skillion roof over the front and side verandah. Front door has retained side lights. Verandah infilled with brick below the verandah rail. Rendered piers flank the front steps. Two tire driveway to the rear. Low brick fence to the street.

Historical notes: The early history of this dwelling is not known but sewerage diagrams dated 1934 show it was owned by P. Sanders. The current owner advises that family records show P Saunders living in this house until 1922. The property remains in the ownership of the extended Sanders family with five generations of the family having had residence in the house.
