Statement of significance:

This Federation residence, with its original windows, is one of several which contributes to the appearance of the historic Bowtell streetscape a landscape characterised by dwellings located at the rear of the block with large expanses of lawn or garden to the street. Dwellings range in age from the 1900 to the inter-war period.

Description

Physical description: Set at the back of a long block this is a single storey Federation weatherboard residence with projecting gable to the front with a pair of long, narrow windows with semi-circular curved tops. Steeply pitched gabled roof with skillion over the front verandah. Unpainted brick chimney intact.

History

Historical notes: The early history of this cottage is unknown but drainage plans dated August 1935 state the owner at W.W. Gillies. At that time the street address was 23 Little Mary street.

Recommended management:
