Statement of significance:

Good example of an ornate early Federation weatherboard Bungalow. High quality detail includes verandah columns gable decoration and windows. Some unsympathetic modifications affect integrity of building but all are reversible.

Physical description: Federation weatherboard cottage. Standard diagonal form. Excellent flying gable above canted bay with finial and spindle collar tie. Moulded architraves and carved undersills to windows. Turned timber verandah posts with curved brackets and drip moulds. Asbestos cement balustrade. Double-hung windows.

History

Historical notes: This house was the home of Mr Thomas Roach the gatekeeper for Ku-ring-gai Chase Park. The house was built in 1900.
