Statement of significance:

Magnificent Federation home. Good local example of an Arts and Crafts style. Of particular note for its outstanding dominant roof. Essentially intact and set in generous well landscaped grounds. Regional significance.

Physical description: Grand Federation house with large attic storey. Complex slightly asymmetrical form. Face brick with extensive roughcast to attic storey. Steep pitched slate roof with gabled and hipped projections. Decorative terracotta ridge capping and tall white painted chimneys. Small front porch with skillion slate roof. Deep eaves to gables with simple timber infill to apex of larger gable. Casement windows and french glass doors in white painted timber frames. Set in large well landscaped grounds.


Historical notes: Built by the Loxton family c1896. Later named 'Tenterfield' by a Mrs Walker who came from that part of the New England region.
