Statement of significance:

A modest weatherboard home but one having particular architectural interest. The octagonal projections and the unusual wrap around window hoods create a very picturesque composition. Essentially unaltered. Historical interest as the home of pioneer geologist Edgeworth David. Still enjoys its original secluded setting with its outstanding gardens and bushland surrounds. State significance.

Description

Physical description: Single storey weatherboard house with corrugated iron roof. Two hipped octagonal projections to front with bullnosed verandah between. Double hung windows to each face of the projections. Wrap around metal hoods over. Brick chimney with terracotta chimney pot. Brick base. Stone steps leading up to verandah.

History

Historical notes: Originally the home of Edgeworth David the distinguished geologist. (HSHS)
