Statement of significance:

Federation cottage of considerable charm attractively restored and reconstructed. A good example of its period and type. Historical interest as one of the first houses built when local orchards were subdivided for suburban development. Local significance.

Physical description: Federation weatherboard cottage with asbestos tiled roof. Diagonal plan type with verandah returning to side projection. Verandah recessed under main roof. Carved timber posts. Terra cotta ridge capping. Interiors include Kauri floors original fireplaces patterned ceilings and cedar joinery.

History

Historical notes: Built in 1914 by George Cyrus Levy on land subdivided from Caleb Gambling's citrus orchard. The first house on the Thornleigh Park Estate subdivision. Two of the original citrus trees are still growing at the rear.
