Statement of significance:

This grand Federation residence is historically significant as it represents a good example of its architectural style located on a large waterfront block. It has aesthetic significance as it acts as a landmark sited on a point overlooking Oatley Point Reserve. These qualities are rare along the foreshore of the Georges River.
