Description

Builder/Maker: Chapman
Construction years: 1907-
Physical description: This house deserves classified status as an excellent example of a prestigious Edwardian home in near pristine condition, inside and out. Its design is unusual for the area - most similar period residences show a strong Federation influence (however, The Oaks, exhibits art nouveau design features). The house is enhanced by its prominent position on a corner block of a major highway. A major townscape element on the highway, it is mellowed by its landscape with stands of mature trees (National Trust).
Modifications and dates: Substantially intact

History

Historical notes: Built c.1907 (date on water taps). Builder - Chapman, but architect unknown. This house has been a medico's residence for most of its life (National Trust). Historical period: 1901-1920.
