Statement of significance:

SIGNIFICANCE - 1993: Like many other houses in Speers Point, this is neither a suburban bungalow, nor a typical worker's cottage.
Its wide-spreading verandah and French doors indicate an open-air, leisured lifestyle fitting Speers Point's reputation as a holiday destination.
The house has no outlook like those on the hill or the Esplanade, but it is close to the Lake and the (then new) tram terminus.
Like 18 Alley Street (SP-08), it also probably started life as a holiday house, and so contributes to Speers Point's history as a traditional holiday destination.
LEVEL of SIGNIFICANCE - 1993: Regional Significance - low
Local Significance - high
Date significance updated: 19 Jun 08
