Statement of significance:

Notable Federation cottage featuring some outstanding timber decoration. Strong Victorian character derived from steep pitched gable and hood to bay. Rare locally. Essentially unaltered. Local significance.

Description

Construction years: 1900-1905
Physical description: Early Federation period weatherboard cottage. Standard asymmetrical double-fronted form. Steeply pitched corrugated iron roof. Bullnosed verandah roof. Canted bay window with unusual "ogee" sheet metal roof, double-hung windows, and timber mouldings above and below sashes. French windows to verandah. Timber posts with fretwork brackets and spindle valance. Elaborate fretwork barge boards and collar ties.
Modifications and dates: House now raised. New verandah balustrade. Unsympathetic spiral stairs to main entry.
