Physical description: Federation Queen Anne. One to two-storey Federation Queen Anne residence of tuckpointed face brick on a sandstone plinth, with sandstone verandah and trim. It is a small-scale, ornate building with emphasis on the balanced symmetrical entry porch. A number of delightful features on Union Street include a projecting corner gable over a facetted bay. Tall roughcast and stuccoed chimneys project from the terracotta tile roof. A stone fence encloses the small but contributory garden which includes a mature palm tree. The house has been extended at the rear.
Modifications and dates: Minor Alteration.

Historical notes: 'Strathairlie' first appears in Sands Directory in 1905 and was occupied by W.E. Ward. In 1918 the name was changed to 'Baroona' by its new occupant Thomas W. Wise. The house became the residence of Dr. S. Dickson in 1926.
