Statement of significance:

Perkins Street wing was originally built as grocery warehouse for D. Mitchell & Co.Hunter Street wing was built in 1908 for Scotts Ltd. Historically important as one of Newcastle's largest stores (Scotts) which established in the 1880s. The original name can still be seen on the Hunter Street facade. The interiors are of significance.

Description

Physical description: Perkins Street wing is a five storey liver brick building with round arched windows. Architect - E.G. Yeomans. Hunter Street wing is a three storey English bond brick facade with dark brick trims, rendered cornices and keystones. Architect - J. Reid.
