Statement of significance:

Part of an unusual, large Federation terrace of three houses on a corner site, showing innovative detailing and interesting layout. Important streetscape element with dominant roofscape, dichromatic banded brickwork and arched entries. The interior is also of significance. Fine example of Arts and Crafts style.

Description

Physical description: One of a two storey brick terrace of three houses (2A Mount Street, 11 & 13 Edward Street) with No. 2A Mount Street on a corner site having frontage to both streets. Predominantly gabled roof, with hips in places and with terracotta ridge capping. Features include upper floor verandahs with timber balustrades and elaborate quadrant brackets to posts, ground floor faceted bay windows, a circular accent window to the corner, string courses of contrasting colour bricks, semi-circular arched entries, No's 11 and 13 paired. Matching brick fence with matching terracotta finials to gate posts, and fine wrought iron art nouveau style gates. This building is designed in the Federation Arts and Crafts style.

Infilled front verandah. Converted to apartments.
