Statement of significance:

A good example of a two storey Victorian Filigree style terrace house. See Group Card NSHS0080.
It is part of a varied collection of late nineteenth century terrace houses which exhitbit a variety of period detailing and layouts, whilst having a similar basic form. They mark the former central township of Milson's Point prior to the Bridge's construction.

Heritage Inventory sheets are often not comprehensive, and should be regarded as a general guide only. Inventory sheets are based on information available, and often do not include information on landscape significance, interiors or the social history of sites and buildings. Inventory sheets are updated by Council as further information becomes available. An inventory sheet with little information may simply indicate that there has been no building work done to the item recently: it does not mean that items are not significant. Physical description: One of a group of terrace houses (nos. 26, 28, 30, 32 Jeffreys Street). It is a two storey rendered brick terrace house with a pitched concrete tile roof with projecting party walls and rendered brick chimney with decorated capping. Stucco decoration at window heads and lintols. Timber verandah set between flanking party walls with stucco decoration to street with corrugated metal roof and cast iron lace ballustrade. The verandah has two part glazed French doors and fanlights at the first floor and modern tiles at the ground floor. Two pane double hung sash window with decorative. Two storey pitched roof painted brick wing to rear with corrugated metal roof and single storey lean to. There is a small garden to front with cast iron palisade fence on sandstone plinth and rendered brick dividing walls.
One of a two storey rendered brick terrace of four houses (nos. 26, 28, 30, 32 Jeffreys Street) with slate gable roofs and cast-iron lace upper verandah balustrades and valences. This building is designed in the Federation Filigree style.
