Statement of significance:

Interesting example of a Federation semi-detached building, well detailed and attractive. It is prominent and a dominant element in the street.

Description

Physical description: One of a two storey pair of semi-detached houses (nos. 7 & 9 Watson Street), polychrome brick with stone dressing and wrought iron. Cast iron balustrade and iron Corinthian verandah posts. Roman bath window motif.This building is designed in the Federation Free style.

History

Historical notes: North Sydney Rates and Valuation book 1903 list 7/9 Watson Street as "house unfinished". In 1905 the Rates and Valuation book list "House" 2 levels / 8 rooms on both 7 and 9 Watson Street.
