Statement of significance:

Semi-detached houses at 41-43 Lansdowne Street are of significance for the local area for historical reasons and as a representative example of residential architecture of the Victorian period in this area. Built c. 1885, these houses are readily identifiable as part of historic building stock and contribute to the streetscape.

Construction years: 1885-
Physical description: Single storey semi-detached Victorian Georgian cottages are of tuck pointed Flemish bond brick walls with hipped corrugated iron roof. Two tall brick chimneys with stepped corbels and two plain brick chimneys are either side of cottages. Verandah has convex hip corrugated iron roof across front only. Brick privacy wall between residences is with blind arch. Open arches are in the end walls. Windows have painted sandstone sills and soldier brick flat arches. Front door at No.41 has narrow transom light above modern six panel timber door. At No.43 transom light is above five panelled timber door with no glazing. Front fence for both cottages is slightly curved acorn topped picket fence and gate. There are original brick toilets at rear of property, before sewage.
