Statement of significance:

The house "Santa Rosa" at 182 Windsor Road is of significance for the local area for historical and aesthetic reasons, and as a representative example of quality Federation houses in the Parramatta area, with some identifiable elements of the Queen Anne and Arts and Crafts styles. The large and notable house, built c. 1910, makes an important contribution to the streetscape enhanced by its place in the group of houses of similar age, design, use and materials.

Construction years: 1910-
Physical description: Large single storey house of decorative dark brickwork, with a gablet roof clad in corrugated iron and verandah on three sides. The verandah was built on an interesting plan with chamfered corners. It has bullnose profile, and decorative timber arches set on brick piers with bullnose brick coping. Gablet hip roof with louvred ventilator in gablet and gable pediment over entrance with timber finial and timber screen. Facades are tuck pointed, cavity walls, with dark brick quoins around windows and corners. Original garden layout visible. Original front fence extant in a dilapidated conition. Tall spatterdash brick chimney with two gabled roofs for cowls, one above the other; the top gable has a gabled niche. Squat terra cotta pots. Verandah floor has rounded slate edging and painted concrete floor with ceramic tile risers in stairs. Windows are tripled, have bullnosed sloping brick sills, and turned timber engaged columns in mullions. Exterior doors are late Victorian four panelled doors with leadlight in round tops of upper sashes. Fence is low brick plinth with bullnose brick coping, lap and sash timber panelling between posts with curved timber arch above. Loch gate with finial over front garden entrance. Other features noted in 2002 include a garage at rear and and old petrol bowser beside.
