Outstanding local example of a Federation corner house. One of the oldest and best preserved in this area. Local significance.

Construction years: 1890-1915
Physical description: Neat corner Federation house, in almost original condition. Standard, diagonal plan arrangement with verandah on both frontages. Tuckpointed red brick with terra cotta tiled roof. Moulded sills and chimneys with good, rendered decoration to gables. Bracketed window hoods below gables. Turned timber verandah posts with fretwork brackets. Frieze decoration possibly lost. Outstanding features are windows, for their unusual forms and exquisite timber detailing. Original tiles to verandah. Badly let down by recent (1990) replacement of fence.

Historical notes: First appears in Sands Directory in 1904. Known as "Karoola" until the 1920's.
