Construction years: 1890-1915
Physical description: Magnificent Late Victorian home. Sympathetically restored and reconstructed. Two storeys with double verandah. Symmetrical design except for verandah return. Hipped iron roof with bullnosed verandah. Central arched entry with tower over. Excellent stucco work includes eaves brackets and pediment to tower. Good iron lace decoration to verandah. Large main door with sidelights and skylights, repeated on first floor. Original stone, palisade fence. Well planted garden area.
Current use: Dwelling house
Former use: Private hospital

Historical notes: First appearance in Sands in 1891, possibly a few years earlier. Served as a private hospital early this century. This probably ensured its survival when the area around was subdivided.
