Statement of significance:

Reconstructed period garden from c.1910, with planting of traditional species. Complemented by period brick and wrought iron fence. Part of a row of fine brick fences, with wrought and cast iron decoration. Local significance.

Construction years: 1890-1915
Physical description: Fine wrought iron and brick fence, with original gate, masonry plinth wall and pillars, from c.1910 period. Tesselated tiled path. Original and reconstructed planting in original layout, using traditional plants. Symmetrical Cypress pines, Frangipani and Pointsettia. Neighbouring tropical palm (Kentia?) at No. 43. Period fences extend from No. 45 down to No. 37. Nos. 3 & 5 also of note (No. 3 being unusual timber design).

Historical notes: Land originally part of the Sydney Common. Subdivided off in the late 1880's to help pay for improvements to the newly proclaimed Centennial Park. Most houses in this row from the Late Victorian and Federation periods.
