Statement of significance:

Well constructed sandstone retaining wall of aesthetic and historical interest. Split level road a response to the steep natural topography. Wall combines with planting and views to produce a cultural landscape feature of note. Local significance.

Construction years: 1891-1920
Physical description: Split level road design from c.1920, with sandstone retaining wall, to 2.2m high. Of good engineering standard, featuring large coursed and squared blocks. Smaller height wall along eastern section of street. Many houses in the area display sandstone base course walls. Informal planting effective with fine vista to sea at bend in street. Traditional square timber balustrading above stone wall.
