Street layout from the early 1900's. Significant median planting of Canna lillies. Local significance.

Construction years: 1891-1920
Physical description: Wide street with wide median planting areas edged with sandstone (rustic finish) from early 1900's. Medians up to 8m wide. Main sewer line runs under this street to Bondi outfall with focus to sewer obelisk vent on street axis (see photo L2/10). Median has been traditionally planted with massed Canna lilies. Now confined to a few median areas. Appear to be gradually being replaced by new stylistic planting. Light standards of recent origin. Mixed species tree planting from c.1965 includes New Zealand Christmas tree (common and more recently Paperbarks and Swamp sheoaks as well as smaller Bottlebrushes. Median planting of Cannas significant.
