Statement of significance:

Broughtons Pass Weir, together with the pumping station as a contributory item and the curtilage of the surrounding gorge, is of landmark, aesthetic, historic and research significance. The weir and pumping station are located in a site of high aesthetic value for its natural setting. It is historically associated with local water supply and have some research potential as an engineering example. The nearby sandstone pier bridge is also of aesthetic value.
