History

Historical notes: William Ernest Rogers, a green grocer and his wife Eva purchased this allotment of the Fairlight Estate in 1914. They took a mortgage the following year suggesting that they built a house around that time. By 1918 and possibly by 1917 the house was complete and is recorded in Sands Directory as Edna Vale with William Rogers recorded as the resident.

Rogers sold the house in 1928 to Herbert Ernest Jennings of Leichhardt, a dealer. He called the house Bonnie Doon and retained the property until 1953 when it was transferred to Giovanni Fonti, a labourer. After the death of Giovanni Fonti, Bonnie Doon was transferred to Guiseppe Fonti. It was again sold in 2008.
