Statement of significance:

The residence at 21 Hurst Street is highly significant locally for its association with Dr Alan Hazelton, who, as a Major, led D Force and was a member of 2/10th Ambulance. He spent over three years caring for soldiers in the medical camps along the Burma Railway during WWII. Dr. Hazelton was also involved in the development of Goulburn Base Hospital. The residence, a red brick single storey Federation style residence may be attributed to the architect E.C. Manfred. The building, featuring a multiple angled bay window, delicately designed iron lace and fine woodwork detailing and chimneys, is highly significant locally for its streetscape presentation.
