Statement of significance:

Refer to main listing for precinct. Visually attractive and executed throughout in sandstone. It is an historical document, bearing witness to changing patterns in the development of psychiatric treatment in the second half of nineteenth century. Gives a sense of enclosure in the more secluded landscape area and at the same time the large gaps in the frequented places removes any sense of imprisonment.
Note: The State Heritage Inventory provides information about heritage items listed by local and State government agencies. The State Heritage Inventory is continually being updated by local and State agencies as new information becomes available. Read the OEH copyright and disclaimer.
