NPWS Executive Director Naomi Stephens said as an equal opportunity employer the new NPWS roles present an amazing opportunity for anyone whose ideal office is one of our State’s almost 900 national parks.

“In these roles you will experience working in one of the best jobs available – looking after our beautiful national parks in NSW,” Ms Stephens said.

‘We are looking for fit and active people who love working outdoors as part of a team and who have a passion for the Australian bush.

“The new roles will focus on important maintenance, repair and restoration of national park infrastructure as well as weeding and landscaping to improve our parks and our visitor’s experiences.

“139 of these roles will be based in regional areas across the State - from the Southern Ranges to the Northern Inlands and North Coast of NSW.

“This really is the opportunity of a lifetime and NPWS is an equal opportunity employer, so I encourage everyone to apply.

“We are also hoping to attract a high number of indigenous applicants as some of the roles are specifically aimed at bolstering NPWS Aboriginal employees to care for Country,” she said.

The new NPWS roles across NSW is also excellent news for national parks, their visitors and for local economies.

NSW national parks inject around $18 billion into the economy each year and support 74,000 direct and indirect jobs.

This recruitment is supported by almost $40 million in funding committed by the NSW Government to stimulate the economy and improve facilities and amenity at popular visitor destinations state-wide.

The new staff will help roll out the 170 new and improved community infrastructure projects, funded as part of a record $257 million for infrastructure in NSW national parks.

Recruitment is open until Sunday 7 February 2021. Further information about the jobs is available at I Work for NSW, where applications may be submitted.
