Access to Spoon Bay stepped up
Access has been restored in time for the weekend with news steps installed on the Spoon Bay Walking Track in Wamberal Lagoon Nature Reserve.
National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) manager Angela Lonergan said the upgrade work on the Spoon Bay Walking Track involved removing the old steps and repairing the walkway to the beach.
"The new works significantly improve comfort and safety to this popular area for locals, surfers and other visitors to the area," Ms Lonergan said.
"We thank everyone for their patience during the temporary closure.
"Visitors can now enjoy the new access to the beach or watch for passing whales from the Spoon Bay viewing platform.
"People are reminded dogs are not permitted in the Reserve or on the beach," Ms Lonergan said.
