What's the Buzz? Remote Piloted Aircraft Systems
Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (drones) are being used for aerial surveys of the Hunter Valley Flood Mitigation Scheme.
The information will be used to assess the condition of assets like levees, drains and floodgates; for tracking landscape changes and for hydraulic modelling.
Photos are taken from a height of 30 metres to 50 metres and are 'stitched' together to provide a high-resolution three-dimensional model.
