Greater Sydney, the Illawarra and Blue Mountains
Water restrictions come into force during drought periods when water supplies are falling. WaterNSW assists water authorities across New South Wales with water supply monitoring. Each water authority then sets their own water restriction levels based on their specific conditions.
Sydney Water sets water restriction levels for all residents, businesses, local councils and government agencies in the Greater Sydney Basin, Blue Mountains and Illawarra Region.
If you have any questions about water restrictions or wish to apply for special business or customer exemptions, please call Sydney Water on 13 20 92 between 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
