Do I need a licence to hunt in a national park?

There is currently no recreational hunting allowed in any NSW national park. It is illegal and subject to penalties.

Supplementary pest control program

NPWS is partnering with qualified volunteer shooters to help remove pest animals (animals that are a threat to native wildlife), such as foxes, rabbits and pigs, in 12 national parks and reserves.

Getting involved

The Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) will oversee the initial selection and recruitment of volunteers to ensure they are appropriately qualified and skilled.
