Egernia margaretae (Centralian Ranges Rock-skink) is a skink of moderately restricted distribution, comprising disjunct populations in inland southern South Australia, central Australia and far western New South Wales (Sadlier et al. 1996). In New South Wales, the species is currently restricted to an isolated occurrence at Mutawintji National Park. This population is at the eastern margin of the national range and is disjunct from populations in eastern South Australia and central Australia (Sadlier et al. 1996).
