The Woronora, O’Hares Creek and Metropolitan Special Areas are an important and interesting area in terms of wildlife in a statewide context. A total of 335 native terrestrial vertebrates are confirmed to occur, with 40 of these listed under the Threatened Species Conservation Act (1995).
The Woronora Plateau stretches from Heathcote National Park in the north to the Robertson Plateau in the south. It is bordered to the east by the Illawarra Escarpment, the villages of Bargo and Yerrinbool to the south-west and Campbelltown to the north-west.
This document summarises the project findings and recommendations for the management of vertebrate fauna within the Metropolitan, O’Hares Creek and Woronora Special Areas.
Fauna species and habitats have been prioritised for conservation management. Detail is provided on issues that require management action for the conservation of biodiversity and pest species, including the implementation of threatened.
