Earlwood air quality monitoring station

The Earlwood air quality monitoring station is located in Beaman Park, off Riverview Road, Earlwood. It is situated in a residential area in the Cook's River valley.

The Earlwood station was commissioned in 1978.

Using data from this station, we provide hourly pollutant concentrations, 24-hour summary and air quality category ratings (AQC).

The following air pollutants and meteorological variables are currently measured at Earlwood:

  • Ozone (O3)
  • Oxides of nitrogen (NO, NO2 and NOx)
  • Visibility using nephelometry
  • Fine particles as PM2.5
  • Fine particles as PM10
  • Wind speed, wind direction and sigma theta
  • Ambient temperature
  • Relative humidity

NOTE: The site does not currently comply with Australian Standard AS/NZS 3580.1.1:2007 - Methods for sampling and analysis of ambient air - Guide to siting air monitoring equipment as the clear sky angle is < 120° due to trees within 20 metres to the north-east and east of the monitoring site.
