Habitat Restoration HUB

The Habitat Restoration HUB is a central repository or archive of information on habitat restoration sites across New South Wales and southern Queensland.

The Habitat Restoration HUB provides an online open-access space for documenting habitat restoration work using standard criteria and in a standard format.

Information collected in the HUB:

  • provides program managers with a central record of work conducted over time
  • enables restoration efforts to be reviewed and analysed across different locations and timeframes
  • helps the coordination and planning of large-scale restoration programs
  • helps with natural resource management, conservation and research.

Development of the HUB began in September 2020, where over 70 habitat restoration experts and program coordinators agreed on a standardised way to collect and manage restoration data.

Early development was funded by an American National Science Foundation Grant and ongoing work is funded jointly by that grant, the NSW Koala Strategy, a federal Multiregional Bushfire Recovery Grant and the Queensland Department of Environment and Science.
