Nielsen Park premises lease proposal

Notice of intention to grant lease under section 151f of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service is seeking public comments on a proposal to grant a lease of Nielsen Park Kiosk, Shark Beach Kiosk and Halbert Pavilion within Nielsen Park, Sydney Harbour National Park (Premises).

Pursuant to Section 151 of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 the Minister for the Environment proposes to grant Periptero Pty Ltd ACN 615 585 405 a lease of the Premises, being the buildings (or part thereof) within lots 1, 2 and 3 of DP 1150045, for the purpose of providing visitor services, including food and beverage services and function facilities for hire.

Under the agreement, Periptero Pty Ltd will invest in the refurbishment of the Premises. Works will enhance the Premises and visitor offering, improve accessibility in accordance with Building Code of Australia (BCA) standards and conserve the heritage values of the Premises.

The proposed term of the lease is 10 years, plus one option for a further term of 10 years.
