Scheyville National Park - Notice of Intention to Grant Licence

The National Parks and Wildlife Service seeks public comments on a proposal to grant a licence for 4 buildings within Scheyville Camp Precinct, Scheyville National Park. Opportunities to comment close 15 November 2021.

Pursuant to Section 151 of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974, the Minister for the Environment proposes to grant Hunter Anzac Memorial Limited ACN 623 275 196 a licence for 2 large Stran-Steel Arch Rib huts and 2 small Stran-Steel Arch Rib huts for the purpose of providing visitor services, including:

  • a museum with displays and memorabilia depicting the multilayered history of Scheyville Camp Precinct and purposes reasonably incidental to it
  • a base for the Military Members Shed and Military Armoured Restoration Society which will publicly display its vehicles at the site on a minimum monthly basis.

Under the agreement, Hunter Anzac Memorial Limited will invest in the refurbishment of the buildings. Works will enhance the premises and visitor offering and conserve and promote the site's heritage values.

The proposed term of the licence is 10 years.
