Selwyn Snow Resort lease proposal

The National Parks and Wildlife Service is seeking public comments on a proposal to grant a lease for the Selwyn Snow Resort in Kosciuszko National Park.

Notice of intention to grant lease under section 151F of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974.

Opportunities to comment close on Friday 22 January 2021.

Pursuant to Section 151 of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 the Minister for the Environment proposes to grant Selwyn Snow Resort Pty Ltd ACN 608 990 503 a lease of Selwyn Snow Resort, Kosciuszko National Park.

Following almost complete destruction of the resort in January 2020 by bushfire, the lease will require Selwyn Snow Resort Pty Ltd to rebuild and operate quality snow resort facilities and activities and ancillary uses. The proposal includes construction of new staff accommodation buildings, improved resort operations centre, guest facilities, day use snow cabins and enhanced snow play facilities and services within the lease area.

The proposed lease term is for 20 years, plus one option for a further term of 20 years.
