Fort Denison, Sydney Harbour National Park lease proposal

Public comments on the proposal to grant a restaurant lease for Fort Denison, Sydney Harbour National Park closed on 24 October 2018.

Under section 151 of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974,  the Minister for the Environment proposed to grant Fort Denison Dining Pty Ltd (ACN 624 139 500) a lease of Fort Denison, Sydney Harbour National Park. 

Details of the proposed lease

Identification of land: Lot 1 in Deposited Plan 837196 being the island known as Fort Denison, Sydney Harbour National Park.

Purposes for which the land and any building and structure is proposed to be used: Licensed café, restaurant and functions and interpretive tours.

Term of proposed lease: 10 years with a 10 and 5 year option (25 years all together).

The proposal included modification of an existing building and construction of a new structure. All works will be subject to appropriate environmental and heritage approvals. It is also proposed to grant Fort Denison Dining Pty Ltd (ACN 624 139 500) a licence of Fort Denison wharf (Lot 2 in Deposited Plan 837196).
