Good data drives down food waste for Anglican Care

Staff at this innovative community and aged care provider in the Hunter, Central Coast and Mid Coast regions have embraced the challenge of minimising food waste and the results have been outstanding.

They have reduced an average of 6,000kgs of food waste per annum per residential aged care home, and the remaining food waste is no longer sent to landfill. Instead, it is collected and transported to farms in the Hunter Valley catchment area and comes back to local farms/industries as mulch and compost. This is one just one of Anglican Care’s recent sustainability projects.

Anglican Care was acknowledged as a Sustainability Advantage Bronze Partner in June.
