This year they have already added over 400kW of solar panels to council sites across 7 locations. This equates to a reduction of around 460 tonnes of carbon emission, equivalent of taking 150 cars off the road. The largest system, a 265kW solar array on the Manly Andrew ‘Boy’ Charlton Aquatic Centre, is expected to offset nearly a quarter of the centre’s electricity demand from the grid. Northern Beaches Council achieved Bronze Partner status in 2019.
