Measuring and reporting on waste streams is the first step to implementing programs such as re-use and recycling, and to improve management of waste disposal. The top three waste streams were general waste, clinical and pharmacy waste, and paper/cardboard waste.
However, there has been a slight increase in expenditure since the previous financial year.
This is explained by the rounding down of both the 2016–17 and 2017–18 figures to whole numbers.
