Questions and answers about supplementary pest control

The NSW Government announced on 30 May 2012 a new program of pest control by individuals licensed under the Game and Feral Animal Control Act (GFAC Program). This is to help control pest animals in selected national parks, nature reserves and state conservation areas, once those areas are so declared by the Minister for the Environment. Find out more

Strategic regional land use planning

OEH is providing soil and land information to the Department of Planning and Infrastructure for the development of biophysical strategic agricultural land (BSAL) maps as part of the NSW Government’s strategic regional land use policy. In supporting the release of the draft Upper Hunter and New England-North West strategic regional land use plans, maps of land and soil capability and derived inherent soil fertility for those areas have been released. Further maps will be made available as more strategic regional land use plans are released. Find out more

Review of the Native Vegetation Regulation

A review of the Native Vegetation Regulation 2005 and related Environmental Outcomes Assessment Methodology and Private Native Forestry Code of Practice is underway. The formal public consultation period for the review has now closed and submissions are being considered. Find out more
