NSW Flying-fox Licensing Review Panel

NSW DECC commissioned an independent review panel to determine whether the current DECC licensing policy for the legal harm (including killing ) of flying-foxes in NSW remains valid (environmentally, economically and socially), particularly for the threatened grey-headed flying-fox.

The panel recommends a cessation of the shooting permit system. However,it is important that this be accompanied by financial grants to previous licence-holders to encourage the installation of best practice management netting systems.
