Taking care of national parks

National parks and reserves are special places, as you probably know if you've ever been to one. But they need looking after - not just by park rangers, but by everyone who spends time in them. By doing a few simple things, you can minimise your environmental impact - and get more enjoyment out of your visit.

You can even go one step further, and give something back to your local park. There are volunteer programs throughout the state, ranging from bush regeneration to tour guiding. You don't generally need any special skills, just a bit of spare time. Why not find out what's happening in your area?
