Lower Thredbo Valley Track – Kosciuszko National Park

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is planning to extend the recently completed shared-use Thredbo Valley Track within Kosciuszko National Park. The proposed track will be known as the Lower Thredbo Valley Track and will generally follow the Northern side of the Thredbo River. The works will commence in 2016 and will be completed in stages over multiple years. Works beyond the 2015 / 2016 financial year are subject to funding

NPWS placed the Review of Environmental Factors (REF) for the project on public exhibition, between 3 September and 3 October 2015. A copy of the REF can be viewed by downloading the following four attachments:

The Regional Operations Group, Office of Environment and Heritage considered the proposal in accordance with Section 111 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and granted approval subject to the conditions detailed in Schedule 1 – Conditions of approval (PDF 534KB).
