NSW Threatened Species Scientific Committee final determinations for April 2025
Four species have been listed as threatened species, and one species has been found to be ineligible for listing as threatened.
The NSW Threatened Species Scientific Committee assesses which species are eligible for listing as threatened species.
Aggreflorum benwellii, Eulamprus kosciuskoi, Pseudomys novaehollandiae and Panesthia lata have been listed as threatened species. Xanthosia scopulicola has been found to be ineligible for listing as threatened.

Aggreflorum benwellii has been listed as a critically endangered species.
Aggreflorum benwellii is restricted to the Mount Munningyundo area in Nymboida National Park, approximately 50 km west of Grafton in New South Wales.

NSW Threatened Species Scientific Committee final determination for the alpine water skink Eulamprus kosciuskoi
The alpine water skink Eulamprus kosciuskoi has been listed as a vulnerable species.
Eulamprus kosciuskoi is found at elevations above 1,000 m and up to 2,000 m in New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and Victoria.

The pookila Pseudomys novaehollandiae been listed as a vulnerable species.
Pseudomys novaehollandiae has a disjunct and fragmented distribution occurring in southern Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and Tasmania, with a reintroduced (but not yet self-sustaining) colony in the Australian Capital Territory.

The Lord Howe Island wood-feeding cockroach Panesthia lata been listed as a critically endangered species.
Panesthia lata is endemic to 4 islands in the Lord Howe Island Group of New South Wales: Blackburn Island, Roach Island, Lord Howe Island, and Ball's Pyramid.

NSW Threatened Species Scientific Committee final determination for Xanthosia scopulicola
Xanthosia scopulicola has been removed from the schedules of the Act (vulnerable species listing).
Xanthosia scopulicola is restricted to sandstone cliff faces or rocky outcrops of the upper Blue Mountains in New South Wales.
