To better manage land for koalas, the NSW Koala Strategy funded the Gumbaynggirr Good Koala Country Plan in partnership with the Gumbaynggirr people of the Mid North Coast.

In a heartwarming habitat restoration win, staff from the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and National Parks and Wildlife Service rangers spotted a koala in restored habitat in Guula Ngurra National Park.

Landholders in the MidCoast local government area can now apply for NSW Government grants of up to $200,000 to set up carbon planting projects.
